Rousseau says we consent to a government by being constantly critical of it. I continue to feel this way about St. Johns. And there, I just assumed my right to speak for myself and others. And that, in a sense, is why people respected me. Though I may be overcome by self-doubt in countless other circumstances (including seminar), at least I'm certain about my communities and my mentors, and claim them accordingly.
