Nov. 21st, 2004 07:15 pmEvery time I go to the grocery store I see people buying flowers.
People buy flowers? Why? And I didn't realize exactly how uncomfortable I am with expressions of emotion until now. I can't imagine buying flowers myself; it would be embarrassing--not to mention an unjustified expense. Buyers of flowers must have different standards of what's embarrassing, or a justified expense. How did I end up with such a masculine attitude about displays of affection? Especially when I more than support them.
Anyway, this was really prompted not by the existence of people who go to the express lane just to buy flowers but by my roommate's girlfriend moving in. I don't mind--officially--, and shouldn't mind, but there'll be plenty of times I'll be a little stuck as to how to act around a couple. I'll just kiss Cordelia more.
